Snap-on Industrial is proud to announce its partnership with Red Bull Advanced Technologies (RBAT) to support the development of the RB17 hypercar.
Designed to perform like a Formula One car with two seats, RB17 is a track-only performance vehicle conceptualised by RBAT’s former Chief Technology Officer, Adrian Newey, and brought to life by the team at Red Bull Advanced Technologies. RB17 is defined by its undeniable power, speed and beauty.
Red Bull Advanced Technologies approached Snap-on to collaborate on this revolutionary new model due to the global tool manufacturers’ unique understanding of tooling and equipment engineered for high-performance vehicles.
Snap-on will support with both the production and on/off track maintenance of the RB17 with tooling, torque control, and data recording equipment throughout 2027 and 2028.
To ensure absolute precision in the manufacturing process, Snap-on has equipped RBAT with a supply of professional hand and power tools as well as its proprietary ControlTech-Link® system.
This advanced solution is designed for precise torque management and process control created for use in manufacturing, aerospace, motorsport, and similar high-precision assembly environments where critical fasteners must be tightened accurately and with complete traceability.
Snap-on has also collaborated with the RBAT team to develop three custom-made track maintenance toolkits for each of the RB17 prototypes. Each kit contains all the tooling required to maintain the vehicle on and off track, safely secured in bespoke printed tool control foam.
Richard Packham, Director - UK & Europe for Snap-on Industrial, said: “I’m thrilled to be working with Red Bull Advanced Technologies to help produce and maintain one of the world’s most exciting new performance vehicles. In an industry where precision, reliability, and quality are essential, their trust in our tooling and torque management systems serves as important recognition of our team’s dedication to producing best-in-class solutions that combine innovation with ease of use.”
Rob Gray, Technical Director, at Red Bull Advanced Technologies, said: We’re delighted to partner with Snap-on to equip the teams building and testing RB17. A car of this calibre demands precision, care and traceability at every stage, and having the right tools is essential. Snap-on’s commitment to quality makes them an ideal partner, supporting our engineers and technicians throughout the programme.
This new collaboration builds on Snap-on’s previous four-year partnership with Red Bull Powertrains. The company supplied professional hand tools, power tools, and its Level 5 Automated Tool Control (ATC) system to Oracle Red Bull Racing’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Milton Keynes, providing secure tool storage, tracking, and management for engineers working on the design, assembly, and testing of Formula One power units.
The partnership’s longevity proved Snap-on’s ability to created advanced tools and asset management solutions that consistently deliver in one of the world’s most demanding engineering environments.
Snap-on and Red Bull Advanced Technologies share a commitment to continual innovation, advanced technology, and quality. Leaders in their respective fields, both companies recognise that nothing less than perfection will suffice when performance and safety are on the line.
